Aston Villa

Aston Villa are one of England's oldest and most successful clubs. Since 1897 they have played their home matches at Villa Park, a ground regularly used for cup ties thanks to its capacity of over 42,000.

In 2006, Randy Lerner took control of the club from Doug Ellis and the club's finances have remained relatively stable thanks in part to the departure of several key players including Ashley Young and James Milner. Debt levels at the club are subsequently stable with the club investing in youth team graduates as opposed to big-money signings.

Below you'll see how debt levels have changed at the club over the years compared to league position & goals scored in addition to other key stats. There's also a social media data analysis of who is the most valued player to the fans, compared to the clubs player of the year.
